New dolls, an apology, and a pithy life observation...

All in one post!

First the apology. Somehow, a few of the comments posted on my blog have ended up in some distant (and cruel) land where Blogger rules with an iron fist. I am so sorry.
I'm watching Blogger with a careful eye now.

Secondly, the pithy life observation: Have you ever noticed that some people can be...how can I say this nicely...a little preoccupied with themselves? Like you could be holding a fire-breathing dragon at bay with your left hand while fighting a horde of rabid rabbits with your right and they would tap you on the shoulder and show you their hangnail?
Just an observation.
No judgement on my part.
Okay, a little judgement on my part.

Now for the visuals! I have been trying to use up all my Sculpey so I have an excuse to buy new Sculpey. Here is what I made.

Winnie
She likes having a bird on her head.

Babette, a little witch

Winnie and Babette hanging out.
Olive, a small skellie doll

Last but not least, I hope that Spring has sprung in your neighborhood and that you are skipping through daffodils and chirping with happiness.  My tulips bloomed in the living room! Yay!

  1. Oh man, I hate when I have to fight rabid rabbits. Love the sweet little characters...they're all definitely Yoborobo dolls! We're enjoying the irises down here--too hot for tulips. :~)

Please, pretty please.:))) Have a great day. I'm of to the kitchen.

  3. A bird on the head is worth 2 in the bush...
and there is a difference between being selfish
    and self-ful...
self-ful is fun and doesn't require anyone else,
however, a lot of people resent self-ful people
    {usually they are the selfish folk}
just an observation of my own :)

    1. Self-ful is definitely fun and it's good to make one's own party. Being arty, we're in self-ful a lot. Selfish is a different kettle of fish. Smackerels. :) xo

  4. Hey Pam! I love your new little dolls, of course, always love all your dolls! The crackled look is curious, a special kind of paint? We have all met hangnail obsessives, lol! Good to see you here!

    1. Hi Barb! Thank you! The crackle is an acrylic 'paint' that you put over your base color. It crackles when it dries (clear). Then you paint over that (I used black) and wipe it off. The black goes into the cracks, and makes very cool patterns. I use a one-step crackle, very easy to use. And as for hangnail obsessives..bah, no time for them! We have doll and strange creatures to make!

  5. Spring in my neighborhood. ? Hahahahahaha flecking snow, Pam, not even melting?

I don't know what sculpey is but I know you 're good at it. Your colors are fun all by themselves :>)

Who was a jerk with you? They are so into themselves !!!

    Get heading ahead, my friend

    1. Hi Shayna! Thank you! I will. I'll get a pic of the bottle, so you'll know which one I use (they aren't all equal). It's very fun to play with. I have a slight addiction. :)

  7. No. More. Snow. I hope it melts soon there. I am loving looking out the back and seeing NO SNOW. Thank you about the dolls. And as for the nameless hangnail waivers in the world...I am trying to get better about not letting it bug me. :)

    1. Hi Sally - you were sent to the spam folder. Why is Bloggger mad at you? What have you done? hahaha. I think I need to spend an hour or two communicating with Blogger today. Happy St. Pat's - late!

  10. Hi Pam.
Winnie is SO adorable. I love her with the sweet little bird on her head. All your creations are ever so cute.
There are buds on the trees and a few little green sprouts here and there in the ground, but I fear we have not seen the last of old man winter. I was looking through my photo files and came across pictures of a big winter storm last year on April 4th. NOOOOOO!!!!!! Let's hope that history does not repeat itself.
Stay warm, stay happy, think Spring!!

    1. Hi Audrey! Thank you! And we have daffodils trying to grow, but we also have a not-so-nice forecast for Sunday night (I refuse to say the "S" word - haha).
We are going to enjoy this Spring, aren't we? (When it finally stays!).

  11. Oh I love that little bird on the head girl. It reminds me of a tiny little clay figure that I found at an estate sale., it was so cute that I just had to have it! ADORABLE!
Sorry about your hangnail numbskull. I totally get it as I am surrounded by people like that.
A co-worker/friend of mine was grieving over the loss of her pet when another selfish co-worker started blabbing about how upset she was when her pet was sick. I just looked at my friend and shook my head. It wasn't even comparable.
Some people just have to have the spotlight on them all the time.
Thank goodness I can walk away.
Hope you have some "green" soon!
I only got mud and melted poop here!

    1. Hi Cindi - thank you! :) As for hangnail numbskulls (may I borrow that term now? haha!), life is much too short to give too much notice. But sometimes (and I know you know what I'm talking about) they really do grate on your nerves. I'm all for walking away. And it is SNOWING - ACK!!

  12. Winnie is so cute! It's neat to see the evolution of you clay creations....
p.s. your comment about my clean workspace made me laugh. Notice I only took a photo of the desk and NOT the surrounding area. lol

    1. Hi Lori! Thank you!
No matter how bad the rest of your work area looks, it could not possibly be as bad as mine. :) I really should take a pic. Or not. It would be embarrassing!

  13. Your clay creations are adorable but what else would I expect coming from you. I love that crackle effect.
Hope you get surcease from winter sooner rather than later. Spring has definitely sprung here.

    1. Hi Jan! Thanks so much! I am completely addicted to crackle (wait, that sounds a little...wrong!). I am so ready for Spring. It's snowing outside right now, and I am trying VERY hard not to get grumpy over it.

  16. Ooh, aren't these adorable! I want to just gobble them up. That pic of Winnie and Babette makes me chuckle. Winnie's all like, "Ooh, look, Babette! There's a birdie on my head!" And Babette's all like, ----zone-----

    Happy Spring!

    1. LOL! Yep. That's how I saw them interacting. Winnie peeping in an attempt to talk to the bird on her head and Babette trying to remember her great-grandmother's potion for straight hair.
      Happy Spring, Bella!

  17. Pam, Everything is wonderful! I love the bird on the head :-), I once had a friend like that and I had to say goodbye. I guess we are all guilty of being self obsessed at times the trick is to not make a habit of it or you find yourself very lonely.
    Happy Spring my friend.
