My treadmill is trying to get me and other important stuff

Do you ever feel like you have nothing to blog about? Hey, me, too!

Yesterday I got inspired to start walking on the treadmill again (since I am not stepping foot outside in this cold windy stuff). I had my iPhone tuned to I Heart Radio, and started the treadmill on a normal walk. “I am being so GOOD!” I said to myself smugly. (Smugness will get you every time.)
Things were humming along at a snail's pace (which is my preferred speed) until the treadmill decided, all by its little lonesome, that I needed to run NOW. The belt tried to launch me into my own orbit over Maryland.
Perhaps treadmills everywhere are rising up against their masters, and I am just one of the first victims.
The treadmill is now on my DH's do-list.

Here are some pics of my cluttered work area. Cluttered art is always more entertaining than a treadmill. (But don't tell the treadmill I said that.)

This will eventually be a painting of skellys dancing in a graveyard, maybe at night, with all sorts of vines and such.

I've started making some Halloween dolls. If I start now, they might be done by October.

She is happily waiting for her dress.

The Cat in the Hat has been hanging out with these two unfinished witch dolls for months and months. I am betting he'd like me to move them. He looks a little nervous.

This is part of the top of my dresser. I decided I needed to have dolls stare at me while I sleep.  I like waking up and seeing them. Yes, I do know I am a little weird. :)

Here are some more dolls on my dresser. There's a Frida from MySkipper and Ghoulia (blue) from ForeverFall

This is a bookshelf near my art tables. I am putting all my little dolls there until I can figure out a good way to display them. Becca (Magikal Seasons) , there's your adorable clown keeping an eye on me. :)

I hope you are all keeping safe and warm. Keep an eye on your treadmill, and perhaps your Mr. Coffee, too. Just sayin'.

  1. I hate blogger!! I had launched into my "treadmill" story when I hit the backspace button to delete my misspelling and I lost the whole post...aaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!

I too have a treadmill, after it sitting in a box for over a year in my dining room. My hubby volunteered to put it together last Oct. while I was away in Austin visiting the wee-ones. He opened the box, took one look at all the parts and said, "Oh hell no!" So it sat, opened now, in the same location till a couple of weeks ago when my stepson sent his 3 monkeys to assemble it. While the 2 "white guys" were figuring out the directions, the "Mexican" dude just started putting it together, making me very nervous, but he did it while the other 2 were still figuring out the directions!! LOL I figured out how to turn it on...OY!!

I joined a gym in Oct. of '11 because after a weekend at a "girl's camp" in the Austin area, I almost died trying to keep up with my two buddies and mind you, I'm used to high altitudes unlike those flatlanders!! I ended up just using the treadmill, but when Vern bought this one, I thought great, now I can quit and use this one...yea right...canceled my membership this past Tues.!!

So this treadmill has only two inclines, 10% and 20%...I was used to working on the gym incline at the most, 3%, so you can imagine how working out at 10% looked like when I began using it last week...I hoped I had sweated half of me, but nope, all me is still there!! Yesterday, I finally got up to 2 miles and I'm paying for it today!!! OY!!

Alright, upward and onward I always say and it's not going past 10% unless I want a death wish. Anywhooo, love the artwork, the mess and as far as you being a little strange, isn't that why we love you!! You know what they say about "bird's of a feather!!" Have a great week and I too will be heading back into the studio here soon.

    xxoo,
    Georgina

  8. But what about vacuum cleaners? They wrap around your feet and sometimes even push a person to the ground! And lost keys and cellphones? They do psychological damage every chance they find a new hiding place. Right?!

Your dolls are spooky sweet, Pam. I don't know how you do it but now I know you have a clan. Or more like multiple clans :-)

    Love

  9. This whole post has had me laughing.
    The treadmill story.
The scared to death Cat in the Hat cat.
The spooky big eye dolls watching you sleep.
But what had me laughing the most is the Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening book on your shelf!
    Hahahahaha!
    oh, wait..that wasn't nice of me! :D
    sorry, but hahahahaha!

  11. I had a treadmill that slowly turned into a homicidal treadmill and kept doing strange things like back-slipping mid-stride, shutting down when I was running full out suddenly, and eventually it kept trying to electrocute me with sharp zaps and shocks. I got a new one, but boy, it was getting scary there! I think they're programmed to turn on you!

  12. The image of the treadmill taking off on you was so worth hot coffee snorted up my nose. I love all of your strange wee ones. I love the look of your busy desk. I love trying to get back on the blogs of my Beloved Friendlings. **blows kisses** Deb

  13. Hey Pam, it's not just treadmills that you have to look out for, exercise bikes are not as tame as you might think. Trust me, I know! Who doesn't like dolls watching them sleep? Especially ones like those on your dresser. Don't ever think you have nothing to blog about, your posts are always fun! HUgs

  14. Pam, your dolls are becoming more and more recognizably "Pam-ish"...if that makes sense.

  15. Love all the dollies you have around your house! I have that same Cat in The Hat plush. He sits next to my Hop on POP Plush, my 42 year old Raggedy Ann doll and a zombie. I wish I had room for a treadmill. Other than short walks with the dog I really prefer not to walk outside and a treadmill would be awesome. I'll be starting on my Halloween dolls this Spring. You are right about needing to start early so they get done. I only got one done for a swap last year. Look forward to seeing your awesome creations for this year!

  16. The pope can't cope. Treadmills are running away.
You've got a Stephen King-esque story brewing there.

  17. How weird. I keep telling myself every day to get on the treadmill and start burning fat, but I don't find myself on it at all. She just sits in our bedroom, brand new and not feet standing on it. I gotta get on there very soon. Your dolls are just awesome. You always do such a good job with your "babies." Thx for stopping by my blog and yes I did get your comment. Hope you are doing well dear Pam. I think of you. Take care.

  18. Ahahahaha! I love your collection! Honestly, coming here and laughing and getting all stimulated is better than any treadmill, any day. Dang, someone should alert the Surgeon General.

  19. Oh no, that's scary! I'm so very glad you are still all in one piece and have not been catapulted across the oceans! As I do not speak to my treadmill, my treadmill does not speak to me bwahhaha - but who knows what mayhem it has planned for me should I set foot on it. Best to just steer clear of it, huh?! ;)

Love seeing all your dollies, can't wait to see your Halloweenie guys and gals.

Happy crafty week to you! xoxoxo

  21. Pam I am so glad that you stayed on your feet when that think went into high gear. You really could have gotten hurt. I told George that I want a stationary bike or treadmill but maybe not now. I love your dolls! They have so much personality! Every single one of them is different. Wishing you a terrific week!

  22. My advice, not that you asked for it, is get a dog, walk outside. Of course there is even more stuff to watch out for out there! but mostly the ground doesn't move unexpectedly. Mostly. Love your doll collection! Love trying to read your book titles although even with glasses and a magnifying glass that was mainly unsuccessful. I'm such a snoop! Take care!

  23. That happened to me once on a treadmill at the gym. It asked me my age and I punched in 61 and the next thing I knew it sped up to 6.1 speed! I screamed and the gym owner came to my rescue.
