'Maters and flowers...

It finally feels like summer, and not an easy-bake oven from Hades. We can go even go outside not faint. It's fabulous!
This is a pic of my DH's garden. We have tons of maters and zinnias. Our fruit trees, blueberries, and grapes feed the birds. But I'm sure they appreciate it.

I'm taking a break from blogging for a week, but when I get back I think I should have a pre-Halloween giveaway. That's what I'm thinking. Something fallish. And maybe orange.

Hope everyone is enjoying summer and eating lots of popsicles.

Home again...

This big kid is back...for a little while anyway! :)

I'm taking some time to reconnect, listen to stories, and in between, stitch some Halloween dolls.
(I keep thinking if I make Halloween dolls it will magically cool things off!)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful non-sweltering time!
See you in a couple of days.

85 feels downright chilly and some WIPS

Isn't it weird how after you've sweltered for a few days, and the temps fall down into the 80s it feels cool? I walked out of a coffee shop the other day with a friend, and we remarked how chilly it was. NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING. Heck, no. Bring on the chilly.

I'm back in poly clay mode, and thinking about Halloween (big surprise). I made this little doll the other day. I love these little ones, there is something so sweet about the size. She's about 5 inches tall (lying down).

There are more, patiently waiting to be baked and painted. And they are being watched over by two that I have kept because they told me to.

Next week my oldest is coming home. I haven't seen him in almost a year. So there will be lots of reconnecting and hugging (at least on my part). I hope you're all having heaps of summer fun: road trips, popsicles, pools, wiggling toes in beach sand, iced tea, wine on the deck, days sprinkled with lots of friends and family. And I hope it doesn't get one degree above the mid-80s.

Air conditioning and some new work

Young Morticia
I have a crush on Air Conditioning. I never knew how much I loved it until it left me. Now that it's back, I tell it how much I missed it, and I pat the little gray control box when I walk by. It's adorable!
Love is a many splendored thing.

That storm was a doozy. The lightening flashes came fast and furious. I have never seen anything like it.

It might have influenced this little painting. Red's had it with tricky wolves and summer.

I hope you're all keeping cool! Now pardon me, I'm going to go tell Air Conditioning I love it again.
