Playing with paper and a lovely surprise in the mail!

When I am older and grayererer, all they will have to do to amuse me is to give me paper, glue and scissors. And I will promise to use the glue as instructed. He he.

Before I show you my paper creations, look what I won from Lizzie on her blog! She made this beautiful print while in Spain taking a printmaking class from Mariann (it's on my life list, Mariann!). I love it, and can't wait to get it framed and up on the wall. Thanks so much, Lizzie! Lucky me. :)
Back to playing with scissors (but not running with them). Last Christmas, I saved some of the smaller, sturdier boxes that gifts came in - thinking I would use them for something arty. I finally got around to making a little Frida box.

And while I was on a Frida roll, I made a paper doll. I had some tiny silver brads that worked great for the arms (after I stabbed myself with the clay tool I used to make the holes).

And then I went thrift shopping. Here are some dollar frames and a little wooden heart candle holder I bought. Aren't they fun? I love the one that looks like a little TV.
I found some Easter things, too. I spent a whopping two bucks for the two bunnies and the painted egg. Better than Vegas, baby.
Happy almost Spring!

  1. SCORE! On several levels. The first bit (older and grayererer?) should be a poem. :~)

  4. Can we be in the same ward when we are just playing with the scissors, paper and glue? I'll SHARE and I promise NOT to stick a glue stick up your nose....
Seriously, that's what I've been doing today (no, not the *up-the-nose thing*) and thoroughly enjoying myself.
Cheaper than therapy and more fun too!
Love your creations and current finds! Junking is so much fun.....

    Love from the wind tunnel~~

  6. I have some safety scissors and non-spill glue, so I'll join you and we'll do just fine!

So pleased the print has arrived safely - and that you like it. I'm flattered that you are in a hurry to frame it and hang it on the wall! Hope you enjoy your prize!

More Frida stuff.. they are great. I love how colourful they are (but of course, it's Frida!). The paper doll is cool!
What are you going to do with the Treasure you bought - you must have a Plan for it? More Frida things?

  7. I'll bring my glue sticks and my scissors with the rounded tips over to your house and we can cut and glue until we're sick of doing it. Here you are making a Frida paper doll and I made Santa & Mrs. Claus paper dolls with outfits that have the little fold over tabs. I was feeling a tad foolish but not any more. Enjoy your day.

I can't wait to see what you are going to do to those poor bunnies. tee hee!
You always come up with the greatest creations!

  11. I am loving the Frida box! Sticking ones self must be in the air. First I stuck myself with the seam ripper and then turned right around a stuck myself with a straight pin. It just didn't hurt so bad when you did it. LOL Do you think they will let me have pins and needles? Wishing you a terrific day Pam!

  12. Oooh, your Frida, she is lovely! She looks quite content in her box. And her new outfit is fantastic! If I were a sushi chef, I would so make a Frida roll for you. What do you think would go in it? It would have to be muy muy colorful. And caliente!

Love your little finds. Sales and bargain deals are like my crack! I mean the drug, not the body part.

  15. Pam,

What a wonderful prize, print making in Spain, now that is a nice dream, that people actully get to do these things always amazes me :-).
Beautiful Fridas! You are so clever.
I love that small rabbit, it reminds me of a rabbit I found in the forest back of my house when I was young, a magic rabbit that I needed because I had just had a trauma. I still have that rabbit.

  21. I always played with paper dolls instead of Barbie. For one thing, we were dirt poor!! But I loved playing with paper dolls in their cardboard box houses decorated with things from the Sears catalog. My sister made the best ever clothes for them too. Wow, I love paper dolls. I'm drooling over Frida!

You're a talented lady miss yoborobo!
I'd like a place in that ward too!

    xoxo
    Lo♥
