Huzzah!

It's a brand-spanking-new year! Let's hear it for fresh starts!
I've been taking a personal 'inventory' (I refuse to make resolutions). Here's what I have come up with:

I need to learn how to say 'no'.
There needs to be more play time in life.
I hate diets.
I love being a creative person.

So I guess you can surmise that I will be answering 'no' to non-play requests while I eat apple fritters and paint and write at the same time!

I wanted to share a couple of presents I made for my kids. This year I made sculpey critters. I made a cat for Lucas, but I haven't taken a pic of it yet. Alex has to wait for his (I am holding it hostage until he comes home from Spain).

And here is a kitty I sewed. These are slightly addicting to make.
Life is busy here. I am going to try and earn some money writing (keyword = try). I am making friends with my new Mac. And I actually organized a section of my work area! Weee!

I hope you are all busy doing things you love, and sneaking in a donut now and then. I will be by to visit you soon. Hopefully you're up to no good, but not the kind that lands you in the slammer.

  5. Happy New Year Dear Pameee! I love your *2012 Inventories*.....a few of them I have already learned (like saying *NO*)..still working on the others.

Your new *Creatures* are heavenly!!! Oh...that Owl!

I have had a semi-difficult Holiday Season....I injured my knee - tendon/ligament - so could not walk for a week or so.... BUT..what saved my *sanity*.....beginning to read "The Night Circus"... I am truly enjoying it...so beautifully written....I am completely enthralled.

Now, it IS a New Year....I am beginning to heal... and as I look around me, there are so many Pamee-Signs here... Enid, Zombie Bunny, Reynard the Fox (oh how I adore him) and my Vampire Kitty.... (hmmmm..guess this says a lot about me...a-ha-ha).. Reynard is right out of *Night Circus*...
I have *met* your Frida - thanks to Marianne...and we have *adventured* together in LA and SF!

I send you many, many hugs as we embark on this new year, full of magic and mystery!

    Love, always,

    ♥ Robin ♥

  8. Hi Pam,

Just getting back to blogging after a long hiatus and I loved reading your post! It's a hard thing to learn to say NO, but gosh does it help out as far as relieving stress and aggravation! Stick to it lady - you will be much happier!

Your gifts are awesome (the owl is my fave - love owls!)

Wishing you a very happy "NO" filled New Years!

    Hugs

  9. i agree totally with your non diet non resolution approach to the New Year. go you - love the sculpey and super love the stitched kitty. Funny - I made felt hens for christmas gifts this year. Felt is so very very forgiving. I freaking love it!!! I even bought some wool coats at Goodwill to cut up for critters. I will post my hens tomorrow so you can see. Happy Happy NY! oh -good luck writing - you already published a book so im sure this will manifest - no problem.

  10. I would have been here to comment sooner but was busy playing and taking snack breaks. Love your plan for 2012. It's so much like my own. The gifts you made for your kids are great. I gave my daughter a certain little snow toddler that she's been making kissy faces at for the past year and she did such a happy dance I wish I'd had the video camera handy. May you have a very creative and happy new year. xoxo

  17. Happy New Year to you Pammie and your new computer! Hurray, so glad you are back amongst us! I miss you.

A personal inventory shiver shiver shake - you are a paragon of virtue and a brave soul to attempt such a venture!

I'm a fly by the seat of my pants free spirit type. I never do resolutions but I've got to, GOT TO, lose weight this year and so far am fighting a losing battle. WAH! We're vegetarians - ought to be easy, right?! Nuh uh! I have a small suspicion that being cheese lovers and dessert lovers does get in the way - oh and parking one's rear in front of the TV and computer bwahhahahaha.

I don't worry about saying no anymore teehee - I have MAMMI - middle aged menopausal mental illness ;) - middle age and menopause have turned me into a shrieking shrewish crabby pants, so I probably don't even need to think about uttering the word NO - people are fleeing as fast as they can in the other direction.

& The hubs is milquetoast so we're quite the pair. Though perhaps that means he's my saving grace these days, since I'm verging on alienating the entire Western Hemisphere. ;)

(I just had a thought - wonder if people don't get my humor and believe what I write here?! They'll be like, "oh, there's that meanie blogger again! she's as mean as the day is long!" bwahahhahahha)

Love the Xmas pressies you made for your kiddies! Look forward to seeing your latest creations and may your book writing muse take up residence beside you. May the word NO, fall from your lips as needed and may your scale announce the desired drop in family width.

Wishing you and all your dear ones much cavorting and silliness and all around good times in 2012!

I too have made the "say No" pledge this year, hope I can stick to it, I still worry about offending.
Good luck to you in 2012

  20. I can assume that many of us need to say NO!!!! how does one say that word without it sounding gruff, mean or bitchy? And without it wrapped around an excuse?
    In Spain, uh? Grand Adventure!!!
think I'll go eat a donut while I find something to play with.
