New work, WIPs and fungi...

I'm popping in to share a few things, and to remind you all that it's time to get those Halloween trees up! We've decorated our dead tree from the woods, and I'll take some pics to share soon.

I finished one little Halloween skelly dude that is headed to my etsy shop.

I discovered Triple Thick (like I needed a new art supply). It's perfect for making small areas really glossy (lips, eyes, etc.).

I also finished my Haunted House. It used to look like this:

Now it looks like this:

(One side is more Halloween-like, and the other is DOTD-ish. I think this one is staying here because Caity likes it.)
I've started working on two Day of the Dead projects to share.

One painting:
And one that will be more of a shrine (I hope!). Can you see who this is on the right?
No? Well, I don't know what is wrong with you.
I guess it will have to be a surprise.

On to the fungus among us!

This is growing on our garage.
And this is in our front yard.(pics by DH)
I do love them. I'm going to try and get out to the woods and take some more pictures to share.
Happy Fall, all!

  1. Love the Halloween house!!!!! Can't wait to see more of your Day of the Dead projects! I have 2 of my own in the works. Can I ask what you use to seal your sculptures and dolls?

  2. I'm lovin' the new stuff, but then I've yet to see anything I don't's all "vundaful!!" Are you making San Pasqual or St. Francis of Assisi??? Dems two of my fav saints!!

Yikes, looks like you're being invaded by nature!! Must be awfully humid out your way. Haven't seen any toadstools out here in a couple of years...been too hot and dry. My theory about the drought here in TX is that God knew long before the rest of the world that our governor was going to run for prez...we're being punished!!! LOLOLOL

Have a great week and keep on creating. Halloween stuff around here goes up after I return from Austin...first week of Oct....going to a birthday party weekend for a dear friend...going to be lots of fun...can't wait...need to get out of Dodge for a while!!

  3. I'm loving all of these wonderful things you've got going here. I like both sides of the house. I don't know how to tell you this but your pieces always make me laugh, sometimes out loud and not just in my head. Keep 'em comin'.

  4. Love, love, LOVE the Halloween/*DOTD* house!!!!! I don't blame for you for keeping this one!

Love those *magic mushrooms*.... I always feel like I am in the midst of an enchanted fairy tale when I see some.... (I want to don my red cape and immediately dash off to the forest!) Guess I have *Red Riding Hood Syndrome*! A-ha-ha!

Flying East in a few days to see Lo, Suki, Mim and KJ.... wish you could come too!

Counting down to OUR favourite time!!!!

    ♥ Robin ♥

  5. St. Francis is on the right!
Ah, a visit to your blog is like WONDERLAND Pam! All the cool stuff you make, the Halloweenies, DOTD; you're like a little trip to New Orleans....without the liquor of course!
Love your house~~and yes, I cannot LIVE without triple thick. Have used that for years. It's amazing....
Off to try and get back on both feet, at least for a bit. Thank you for a moment of sanity here... ;-D

  6. Love all your new work and my guess is also St. Francis although I imagine you will have some spin on his name? Always so much fun to stop by here.

  7. A DOTD version of St Francis of Assisi??? Brilliant!

  8. Love the house! I always keep my best stuff too :-). I guess Saint Francis, I would know him anywhere :-). xoxo

  9. well ya KNOW that I'm LOVING the DOTD shrine!
    :D :D :D
I have to get to work on mine. My very first!
I can't hardly wait to see your Halloween tree!
Those mushroom thingies are growing out of my Weeping Willow too! I agree, very magical.
I think I will break off a piece and put it in one of my Halloween jars....Hmmmm, doesn't look like Eye of Newt, maybe Tongue of Frog?
    Ear of............
